Join us for a fun interactive workshop and book reading with local West End Author of Blake & Monty Find Clues in the Poos, Nic Mathison and local Rewild Me Now koala charity founder, Viveca Sawers. The children will learn about the importance of bush conservation and how to explore Australian native animal tracks and traces, using magnifying glasses and exploration skills to search their environment, and have fun modelling Australian animal scat/poo with air-dried clay. We all recognise the importance of preserving the environment and biodiversity for future generations and engaging in conservation efforts and initiatives that promote sustainability, engaging with young minds early aims to help foster a lifetime of curiosity and conservation. This workshop is suitable for kids aged 3-9 years.
Ticket is for a child and accompanying adult. It includes their attendance and materials at the workshop, a copy of the book Blake & Monty Find Clues in the Poos, with any proceeds going to local koala habitat charity rewildmenow.com.au.
About the Author
Nic Mathison is a local West End author and founder of the Wattleby social enterprise – a business for good – which is all about knowledge innovation and conservation harnessing STEAM-power - science, technology, engineering, arts and maths. Nicole has a Masters degree in Information Science which she uses to problem-solve in the real world working with technology and innovation including helping design environmental monitoring systems with internet-of- things data from drones, satellite imagery, water and soil sampling to monitor and rehabilitate bushland including reviewing evidence of animals via tracks and traces. She is passionate about helping share knowledge with others on how we can help make a difference.
About the Book
