Wild Things Review

The Last Bear by Hannah Gold is a beautiful story about April Wood, a young girl who spends six months alone on Bear Island, in the Arctic Circle with her father. Despite her father’s constant reassurance of there being no more bears on the Island, April proves him wrong when she develops a friendship with Bear, the last polar bear left on Bear Island. Last Bear is a heart-warming celebration of the friendship between a lonely girl and a wild polar bear whilst also exploring grief, climate change and the protection of our environment.
