Huda and Me
A cheeky, fun and fast-moving tale of two Lebanese-Australian kids who decide to escape their horrible babysitter by running away...to the other side of the world.

'Huda And Me' is a wonderful debut middle-grade novel by Lebanese-Australian author H. Hayek that explores racism, belonging, courage and kindness. I especially loved the beautiful relationship between the cheeky younger sister Huda and the quiet older brother Akeal. It accurately depicts how siblings find so much delight in constantly antagonising one another, but when necessary they will go to extraordinary lengths (even the opposite side of the world!) for each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this hilarious, heart-weartming, high-flying adventure for children aged 8-10 years.
