One of the most interesting things about being a carer of littlies is instinctively knowing if your child will benefit from a strong nudge in the right direction or a gentle coaxing. "Don't Worry Little Crab' is about the latter. Anxious children often need gentle reassurance and a slow introduction to trying new things. As we know there is nothing wrong with that because they will get to their milestones in their own time when they are ready, and when they do get there it will be wonderful because it was on their own terms. Chris Haughton is a prolific author/illustrator who has written some absolutely hilarious books (our faves are 'A Bit Lost' and 'Oh No, George!') but this is definitely his most heartwarming book by far.

Ever felt out of your depth? I know I have, and I know I could have really used a book like this when I was younger. This is a gorgeous book of encouragement and bravery that every little one starting school or a new maybe slightly scary adventure needs in their life. There’s bit of big crab and little crab in all of us so parents and caregivers can expect to be enchanted with this book as much as the children they are reading to. Perfect for 0-7.
