Do you love books? Would you like to meet an author? Join us and spend a day with other kids who love books at our special Author Day Camp! We will play bookish games, write and story tell and have pizza for lunch.

Our first day camp of the Winter holidays features two amazing authors, Kate Foster, writer of the much loved Paws, and debut children's author Sarah Armstrong. Kate Foster and Sarah Armstrong will be launching and doing workshops on their newest middle readers, The Bravest Word and Big Magic.

This Day Camp is for 10+ yrs, your ticket includes workshops and author interviews, a copy of both authors' new book, games and pizza!

What to bring: A water bottle! What we provide: Lunch, writing utensils, paper and fun!

Kate Foster is a children's author writing about friends, family, and dogs. Originally from a small town in the south east of England, she now lives on the stunning Gold Coast in Australia with her family and second-hand dogs. She is passionate about encouraging and teaching a wider understanding of autism and mental illness via a positive approach and representation. Her debut middle grade novel, PAWS was published in 2021, her second, The Bravest Word in 2022, and her first chapter book series, Harriet Hound will be published in 2023, all with the brilliant Walker Books.

Sarah Armstrong was an award-winning journalist at the ABC before writing three novels for adults, including Salt Rain which was shortlisted for the Miles Franklin Award. Big Magic is her first book for children. She lives with her partner, Alan, and their daughter, Amelia, in the NSW town of Mullumbimby, which freatures (if slightly disguised!) in all her novels, including Big Magic.

Please note that you are also able to attend these author events individually if you are unable to attend the full day camp.
