We are looking for a qualified person to join our bookselling team to specifically work with local and regional schools. This position involves nurturing our existing customers and growing our school business accounts. We work with kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools.
You will be required to work Monday to Friday for a minimum of four hours per day during the school term.
To join our team you will need to have a degree in education and a thorough understanding of the current curriculum in Queensland. Excellent communication skills, including an ability to speak comfortably in front of groups, is essential. Proven experience in developing accounts and meeting growth targets desirable. You will have to share our absolute passion for children's and young adult books, and be able to work as part of a team. Retail experience preferred, but not essential.
Where the Wild Things Are is the sister store of Avid Reader Bookshop. Established in March, 2015, Wild Things created a new home for avid young readers.
At Where the Wild Things Are, we stock the latest releases as well as classic titles. We specialise in personal service and offer an extensive special order system, book advice to schools, gift recommendations, free gift wrapping, and gift vouchers.
We have frequent in-store events including bookclubs, author visits, workshops, book launches, and signings.
Where the Wild Things Are also supports a range of local schools, community activities, and groups.
